Enrollment
Students interested in applying to the Tiger Open Pathway (TOP) are encouraged to pick up an application in the counseling office. The TOP program accepts students in their sophomore and junior years of school. Generally, students apply for acceptance into the program in the spring for the following school year. However, students are able to apply during the 1st or 2nd quarter of their current school year to gain acceptance for the beginning of 2nd semester of their current school year.
A successful member of the Tiger Open Pathway (TOP) program demonstrates they are involved, engaged, and an independently motivated student in the program and the Cañon City High School community. Active engagement will look different for each student as each student follows a unique path. Although by no means limited to the following activities, active involvement and engagement with TOP and CCHS can be demonstrated through the following:

- Participation in most, if not all, off-campus, onsite learning trips / experiences
- Community involvement and internships/apprenticeships in the community
- Regular meetings with TOP advisor
- Positive participation in general education classes
- Participation in extracurricular activities
- Participation and progress in online curriculum
- Participation in the TOP governance council
- Embracing and executing leadership and planning roles
- Practicing regular self reflection, assessment, and documentation
